About the Place
Villa Themistoklis. Quiet traditional two bedroom house in the village centre.
Recently renovated detached house-maisonette (Ground Floor-1st floor) in the centre of Mandraki (Lagkadi region) next to Saint Ioannis Theologos. It’s a 5 minutes’ walk from the high school, from the free parking, and the football field, and from the chochlakoi beach. A very quiet area with loads of space and good views towards the central village. You can be served by all the shops that are all 5-10 minutes away.
The space
The Villa is fully furnished and equipped for a long stay, with a decoration that finds the balance between the traditional and the modern style. On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with flat screen TV and traditional furniture. There is also a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with a new fridge, a conventional oven, a microwave and a coffee machine to cover all of your daily needs. On the ground floor, you will also find storage space with washing machine and a hose tap so you can clean the outdoors with ease.
The staircase leads to the first floor where there are two spacious and bright bedrooms (1 double bed in one of them, and 2 single sliding beds in the other) with air conditioning and large wardrobes for comfortable and practical living. Coming out of the bedroom you are led to the front (southeast) side, where there is a comfortable balcony overlooking the central village. On the same floor is the bathroom/toilet that is modern and functional. On the mezzanine you can venture into the back (northwest) side and enjoy carefree hours in the large private atrium / veranda area.
With the solar water heater, you will get free hot water all year around. You will never be bothered about how often and whether you need to fill the underground water tank that is usually a necessary chore for other houses in Nisyros, because we have already placed a fully automated water supply system. The brand-new windows will offer you a shield against heat losses during the winter and help cooling in the summer, since they also have sliding bug screens. It is a very robust house construction with stone walls that reach up to 1 meter thick!
It is an amazing house that we inherited from our ancestors, decorated with Aleka’s unique style. We want to keep it in perfect condition so that you can enjoy it, whether you are alone or with your family.
Basic Rental Terms
The rental price includes the bills for electricity, water, and fast Internet (*).
Minimum rental duration for the summer period is 10 days.
We regret that you will not be able to bring your pet home because it is necessary to protect and maintain the sensitive elements of the property. We also thank you for not smoking so that the fire detection system that we have placed in every room is working smoothly.
We donate 15% of all rental income to a local children’s charity (we’ll send you proof of donation).
(*) There is a pre-agreed monthly limit on the consumption of electricity and water included in the rent; beyond this limit, the tenants are responsible for paying the difference.

| If you have walked around the village of Mandraki as a tourist, it is almost certain you will have already taken a photo of our house. It’s a uniquely beautiful location, next to one of the most traditional landmarks on the island, which is the ancient church of Saint Ioannis Theologos at Lagkadi (not operational anymore). | 10 to 15 minutes walking from the Villa, you will find a fully kitted pharmacy shop, dental surgery, healthcare practice with 2 general practitioners and 1 specialist doctor. There are wide traditional paved stairs that you’ll need to walk through to get to the house, which means there is no noisy scouter traffic nearby to disturb your stay. |
